About Koh Phangan
What is known about the area.
- The district is made up of Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao and is the smallest district of Surat Thani Province, as TAT describes it.
- TAT gives the island's monsoon season as October to January and advises against visiting then.
- Ko Pha-ngan island covers 168 square kilometres and lies about 100 kilometres from Surat Thani city; mountains run north to south through its centre, and its plains, about one quarter of the island, lie mostly on the west side.
- TAT lists Than Sadet Waterfall National Park among the island's main attractions, with Thong Sala, Hat Rin, Ao Thong Nai Pan and Hat Mae Hat.
